1. What is a Leap Age?
Your "Leap Age" is a metric that counts how many leap days (February 29th) have occurred since the year you were born. For people born on February 29th (known as "leaplings"), this number represents their true number of exact birthdays.
2. How the Leap Age is Calculated
The calculator determines the number of leap years between your birth year and the current year. It checks each year to see if it meets the exact leap year criteria:

3. Why are some century years skipped?
The Gregorian calendar dictates that years divisible by 100 are NOT leap years unless they are also divisible by 400. This is why 2000 was a leap year, but 1900 was not.
